Our Capabilities
INDUSTRY LEADERS IN FUNCTIONAL PLATING
For the past
twenty years, ChromeTech of Wisconsin has specialized in functional,
engineered surface treatments. We provide quality workmanship, technical
expertise, reliable lead times, and competitive pricing. We can
certify to many standards and specifications, including Mil-C, ASTM, SAE,
Deere, Case, Caterpillar, Enerpac, Husco, Danfoss, Harley-Davidson and more. At
this time, we offer the following services and have plans to expand our
capabilities, to serve the ever-changing industrial market.
Industrial Hard Chrome
*Used in a wide variety of applications, typically for wear resistance, reduction of friction, corrosion protection and dimensional build-up. Hard Chrome can be applied in deposits ranging from .00005 to .10000 thick. We have both manual and automated equipment to serve high volume needs, as well as one-piece salvage jobs. The proprietary chemistry we use provides an Rc hardness of 70 – 72, and a semi-bright finish. We can process parts with diameters up to 55” and lengths up to 132”. Our current weight capacity is 8000 pounds.
Electroless Nickel
*Used in a wide variety of applications, typically for corrosion protection, reduction of friction and wear resistance. Electroless nickel can be applied in very uniform deposits ranging from .00005 to .006 thick, although typical deposits are in the .0001 - .0007 range. We offer mid-phosphorous, high phosphorous and RoHS compliant electroless nickel, which have a hardness of 48 – 50Rc as plated and can be post-baked for additional hardness. We offer both rack and barrel processing. We are expanding our electroless nickel capabilities, so please contact us for current size capacity.
Electrodeposited (Sulfamate) Nickel
*Typically used for corrosion protection, dimensional build-up and as an underlayment for hard chrome. Sulfamate Nickel can be applied in deposits ranging from .0001 to .060 thick.
Nickel-Chrome
*This dual layer of Sulfamate Nickel and Hard Chrome in applications where superior corrosion protection and wear resistance are critical. The range of deposit thickness is broad, but typical deposits are in the .001 - .002 range.
Pickling
(Pickle & Oil)
*This cleaning process chemically removes oxide or scale from the surface of metal, typically to prepare for other operations such as plating, painting, soldering, brazing and welding. A rust preventative is typically applied after pickling to protect the metal, prior to the secondary operations.
Mechanical Finishing
*Polishing: Roll and feed-through polishing. Up to 18 inch diameter and
12 feet long.
*Blasting: Manual and tumble blasting. Glass bead or aluminum
oxide.
*Wheelabrating: Airless, steel shot tumble blasting.
Baking *We have the facility to bake parts to relieve the potential for hydrogen embrittlement, and to achive additional hardness and improve the adhesion of electroless nickel deposits.
We at ChromeTech of Wisconsin are always looking for additional ways in which to service our customers, so feel free to challenge us with projects that include multiple finishes, additional inspection, assembly, packaging, sorting / counting, drop-shipping, etc.
We would be happy to discuss your finishing needs in person or via the telephone, fax or e-mail, whichever is most convenient for you.
